Bandwidth MCP Server
Model Context Protocol
Model Context Protocol, or MCP, is an emerging standard designed to integrate your tools and data with large language models (LLMs). An LLM alone is limited to its training data and cannot access real-time information, but MCP bridges that gap, connecting agents to the external systems they need to take action. Just like an API exposes resources externally, an MCP server exposes data and functionality to AI agents. We are so excited to announce our first step in developing MCP support - a local package in Beta that any Bandwidth user can download and try out today!
MCP Package Functionalities
The Bandwidth MCP Server package gives AI agents the tools and resources they need to interact with Bandwidth's APIs. Using natural-language requests, your agent calls the APIs directly, interprets responses in real time, and triggers the next step automatically—no code required.

- MFA
- Phone Number Lookup
- Call Event List and Details

When you set up your agent with production credentials, it's like handing the keys to a digital assistant. Our MCP server lets your agent make real changes, so only prompt your agent to do things you want to see happen. Users will only be able to use tools for features that are already authorized by their API credentials and provisioned on their account. You're the conductor of this orchestra, and you'll be responsible for any songs your agent sings. Happy prompting!
